Caribbean Sip & Nibble
July 24 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm PDT
Start time where you are: 4:00 pm PDT
Ya Mahn! it’s the Caribbean Sip & Nibble! Let’s hop to the West Indies for the inspa-ray-shun for this Virtual Shakedown and Cooking Class. The refreshing Hibiscus Cooler can be made with just abut any alcohol you prefer — it even works as a mocktail! We’ll also prepare a full-of-flavor, full-of-color black bean salad. Just crank the tunes and you can be “virtually” on the beach in Jamaica!
Ingredients and supplies for Caribbean Sip & Nibble
hibiscus tea bags (or dried hibiscus blossoms, if that is something you have)
a nub of fresh ginger
2 cups cooked black beans
2 large tomatoes
1 red onion
1 cup cooked corn (just defrost some fire-roasted corn from TJs, or cut it from a cooked ear of corn)
a handful cilantro
1 serrano, chopped, optional
Staples: olive oil, garlic, salt
you’ll also need ice and a cocktail shaker with a muddler and strainer
cutting board and kitchen knife
a small pot and 2 large bowls
Shake it down, stir it up, laugh with us!
