The Sage Rush & Gorgonzola Walnut Shortbread are a match made in heaven! This herbaceous sage-y cocktail will be your new Fall Favorite. What can stand next to this glory? Why, the sharp, buttery Gorgonzola Shortbread, of course! Enjoy this delightful savory treat with your cocktail: we’ll prepare both in class. It’s a “Cheers!” and a delicious bite all in one.
Gluten-free and nut-free versions of the shortbread are absolutely possible (and delicious, too), so you have no reason not to join this Fall-Ahead class.
To get ready for class, you’ll need:
6 large Sage leaves (double up if they’re small)
1 heaping cup crumbled Gorgonzola
1 lemon
Gin (or vodka)
⅓ cup chopped Walnuts (skip the nuts if you are allergic, or substitute a different kind, like pecans.)
Grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed or storebought)
Staples: Sugar, Flour (alternative flours work well if you’re Gluten-Free!), and a stick of room-temperature butter
Cornstarch, Ice
Equipment Check-List:
Cocktail shaker with muddler & strainer (or a mason jar, lid, and mesh strainer)
Cutting board & kitchen knife
Food processor
Measuring cup or cocktail jigger with ounces
Baking sheet (lined with parchment or baking mat) and oven set to 375°F.
