It’s a total Thai immersion! Join us to learn about Thai ingredients and that playful Thai attitude and approach to cooking that make the cuisine so exceptional. There’s a secret to Thai deliciousness that will improve all your cooking.

We’ll make a Thai Red Cashew Curry with a curry paste we’ll make from scratch. Alongside your curry will be a bowl of fragrant coconut rice. And for dessert: the famous Mango Sticky Rice, beloved by all!

Ingredients for Let’s Go to Thailand

Our Ingredients Kit makes it easy — just about everything you need for class arrives in a lovingly packed box. The purchase price of the ingredients kit includes the kit (4 servings), shipping costs, and the cost of the class. (If you cannot attend the live class, we’ll send you a recording to watch at your convenience.)

Without the ingredients kit, you’ll need to purchase and have these items ready for class. These ingredients will serve 4.

1½ pounds of protein of your choice, cut into cubes: boneless skinless chicken, shrimp or sturdy white fish, or tofu
Specialty ingredients:

fresh turmeric
fresh galangal
lemongrass
lime leaves
fish sauce
shrimp paste
Thai chilies (fresh)
Dried chilies (like Ancho, Anaheim, or New Mexican chilies)
Thai sweet rice

Produce: 3 limes, garlic, ginger, shallot or red onion, cilantro, 1 ripe mango (or use 3 ounces dried mango)
Staples: sugar, palm sugar (or brown sugar), coconut milk or cream (19 ounces), 1 cup raw cashews
Spices: whole coriander seeds, green cardamom pods, black peppercorns
Oil for cooking,: grapeseed oil or coconut oil

There will be some prep to be completed prior to class. After you signup, we’ll send you prep instructions and the Zoom link for class.

Equipment

awesome pot (our favorite is the Le Creuset 4.5 quart soup pot) for your curry
a large pot fitted with a steaming basket (see below) or a steamer insert, and lida small skillet (10-inch is fine)
a sturdy heat-proof cooking spoon and spatula
Microplane or grater
a cutting board and chef’s knife 
2 mixing bowls
Blender and/or food processor

Every cook’s kitchen needs one of these. This pan (made in USA) is weighty enough to be sturdy and conduct heat beautifully! The stainless steel is non-stick and will last you many, many great meals.

The “gratest” tool in the kitchen! Parmesan cheese falls like snow, with so much surface area that “less is more”. But don’t stop there! Also use to zest citrus, grate ginger, shave chocolate, sprinkle nutmeg, etc., etc.
