You making this fabulous cake, of course. Hint hint: it goes perfectly with a glass of red wine. Milk for the kids, wine for you!
This is a 2-part class
We’ll meet from 11am-12pm to make the cake and then reconvene at 1pm to glaze and decorate. Your cakes will be swoon-worthy!

High-quality cake pan: 10 x 3 inch cake pan, lined with parchment and ready to go!
Cooling rack (you’ll need this for cooling the cake, and for pouring the glaze)
Offset spatula (you’ll need this to spread the ganache)
Dry-ingredients packet including cake flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cloves, chili, pepper and salt
High-quality chopped chocolate for the ganache
Students to provide fresh ingredients for class: 3 eggs, sugar, grapeseed oil, buttermilk (or yogurt, or sour cream), and coffee.

Without the Kit, this is what you’ll need to gather:
10 x 3″ or 10 x 2″ cake pan
Electric Beaters or KitchenAid
cocoa powder (not Dutch-press)
fresh ground cinnamon (use a Microplane to grate cinnamon sticks for optimal flavor)
fresh ground cloves (toast cloves and then pound in a mortar and pestle for optimal flavor)
ground chili pepper
freshly ground black pepper
7 ounces neutral oil (like grapeseed or refined coconut oil)
7 ounces buttermilk (or plain yogurt, or sour cream)
8 ounces freshly brewed coffee, cooled
8 ounces chocolate, use 52% for best results
8 ounces whipping or heavy cream
