Have Hipcooks for the holidays with Pecan Anise Crescents. We cannot stop making these — and eating them! Delightfully buttery, super-crumbly, not too sweet, rich, and just a little bit nutty. Oh, and with a little kick of anise — not a lot, just enough to make them beguilingly adult. Make a double batch so that you can gift some, and eat some.
Pecan Anise Crescents have a hint of anise extract…just a hint, to create a touch of complexity to this Danish inspired recipe. You can choose to add to the party with a hint of lemon zest. We like to add both! And, because we cannot resist, we like to freshly toast a teaspoon of fresh fennel seeds and add that to the batter. You see, the butter and ground pecans are so rich tasting, so a hint of this warm spice beguiles. Pass another cookie, please?
Let it snow
Pecan Anise Crescents are not sweet. So, fear not the generous dusting of powdered sugar to finish! The sugar will adhere nicely when they are fresh -out of the oven. Go on, give them a sprinkle, and ho ho ho as you go.
