Gluten-free and nut-free versions of the shortbread are absolutely possible (and delicious, too)
grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed or storebought)
⅓ cup chopped walnuts (skip the nuts if you are allergic, or substitute a different kind, like pecans.)
1 heaping cup crumbled Gorgonzola
6 sage leaves
gin (or vodka)
